ERP is an abbreviation for Enterprise Resource Planning, which is an integrated software solution that helps to connect with various functions of different departments within an organization to provide centralized control and information.
In basic terms, it is an integrated software solution; the important word here is integrated, as there are number of standalone software available for a specific function. Best example is Tally, Quick Books – which are basic accounting solutions only and are not capable to provide high-end Business Intelligence reports.

Implementing ERP Software in an organization is long cycle process. It is not a plug and play solution like Microsoft Office, that one product fits all. ERP software’s are designed to meet the standard operational requirements of any types businesses/organizations, but operational requirements will vary from company-to-company, business-to-business based on the scope of operation, process and management style, these variances can be availed in the ERP by making apt and quality customization’s.
